Sportsmanship Award

The US Athletic Foundation established the Sportsmanship Award on behalf of the late Bunny LaRoche, the mother of Foundation presidents Nick LaRoche and Tricia LaRoche. Bunny was murdered in July 2008 but her memory lives on through the Sportsmanship Award.

The award is given to athletes who are current members in the US Athletic Foundation who show both strong promise and great successes in their sport. But more importantly, the winners embrace the vibrant spirit spirit of Bunny.

Further information on the Sportsmanship Award, including the criteria, will be announced at a later date. The funding for the Award will at least partially come from the "An Evening on Ice" show on Sept. 19, 2009, in Ontario, Calif.
